Austin Diagnostic Clinic Selects Kryptiq for Secure Messaging

One of Nation’s Largest Physician Owned Clinics Installs Secure Messaging to Improve Clinical Workflow and Quality of Care

PORTLAND, Ore — December 3, 2003 — Kryptiq, Corp., today announced that The Austin Diagnostic Clinic (ADC) has selected Kryptiq’s leading email-based workflow automation solutions to secure and streamline communication between ADC’s patients and its clinical network. By integrating Kryptiq’s solutions with ADC’s existing electronic medical record (EMR) system, LogicianÒ, the clinic is able to transition from manual work processes — phone, fax, and mail — to secure email in order to reduce costs and improve care. ADC has over 120 providers in 9 clinics serving Austin and Central Texas.

“Kryptiq’s healthcare solutions position ADC for significant gains in productivity, online services, and customer satisfaction while enabling compliance with HIPAA regulations,” said Ron Brannan, chief information officer for The Austin Diagnostic Clinic. “Kryptiq’s core focus on creating solutions specifically for the healthcare market and its integration with our existing EMR solution makes them an ideal long-term partner for our clinic. Kryptiq understands our business and can offer us the tools we need to improve the delivery of care throughout our network.

ADC deployed the Kryptiq E-Gateway™, an enterprise secure messaging and workflow automation platform that connects existing healthcare systems to securely transport and unite critical data across organizations, between users and databases. The Kryptiq E-Gateway will add security and workflow components to ADC’s internal email infrastructure to enable the transport of confidential patient information.

ADC has also installed Kryptiq ChartCatalyst™, a forms engine that enables users to easily build structured questionnaires for automating the collection and delivery of patient data. ADC can now receive a patient’s personal and confidential health information securely from any Web-enabled device at home, in the office, or in the clinic. ChartCatalyst will be used to reduce patient wait times, improve clinical throughput and increase accuracy of patient records.

“Integrating email with health information systems is the most effective way to improve healthcare productivity,” said Luis Machuca, chief executive officer of Kryptiq. “By installing secure messaging solutions with their existing systems such as electronic medical records, our customers can increase the mobility of critical data to facilitate communications with patients, staff and business partners and help improve the delivery of healthcare.”
