Kryptiq Joins GE Medical Systems Partner Program
New Solution Migrates Logician Users from Fax to Secure Email
PORTLAND, Ore — April 30, 2003 — At the Logician Users Group conference here today, Kryptiq Corp., a provider of secure messaging and email-based workflow solutions, announced a partnership with GE Medical Systems to provide secure clinical messaging for GE’s Logician electronic medical records. Installed at over 600 hospitals and clinics across the US, Logician is the most widely adopted electronic medical records system in healthcare. With this announcement, Kryptiq will integrate secure email into Logician to enable electronic messaging that meets HIPAA requirements and improves the efficiency of healthcare communications.
With Kryptiq, Logician users can now migrate from a reliance on fax machines for transmitting paper-based documents to using secure email for delivering electronic records. The addition of email will eliminate the need to retype or scan patient data into multiple information systems, ultimately reducing errors and improving the flow of information between healthcare providers and patients.
As Logician’s largest user, Providence Health System in Portland, OR is a leader in improving the quality of healthcare through the use of electronic medical records. “Kryptiq’s secure email solution makes Logician a more powerful tool in the care setting,” said Rick Skinner, chief information officer at Providence. “Email allows us to dramatically improve productivity.”
Kryptiq’s software enables healthcare organizations to use secure email to schedule appointments, refill prescriptions, manage pre-visit questionnaires, deliver lab results, communicate medical records between physicians and enable doctor/patient correspondence.
“Integrating secure email into Logician is an essential step toward effective online communication between doctors and patients,” said Winda Antoine, President-Elect of the Logician Users Group. “Kryptiq's contribution supports our vision for Logician by enabling us to send patient records using email conveniently from within the Logician system.”
Kryptiq Secure Email works with any existing email system to add security features such as message encryption, recipient authentication and policy controls. The solution automatically protects sensitive patient information and allows senders to compose, send and track secure messages from their current desktop environment. Secure message recipients can use any email application and are not required to install additional software.
Over 400 Logician users are gathered in Portland for the 10th annual Logician Users Group Conference. Kryptiq will be demonstrating the integration of secure email with Logician at the conference over the course of the next three days.
