Luis Machuca

President and CEO, Kryptiq

Luis Machuca is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Kryptiq Corporation, a healthcare connectivity company that facilitates a first-of-its-kind, open collaborative network for healthcare.  Mr. Machuca received his BSEE in 1980 and MSIE in 1981 both from Purdue University.  He joined Intel Corp. in 1981 where he spent 15 years in a variety of roles in management before becoming co-GM of the OEM Products & Services Division where he established Intel as the #1 motherboard supplier in the world. In 1996 he became the EVP of the NEC Computer Services Division of PB-NEC Corp. In 1999, Mr. Machuca joined eFusion Corp. as President and COO and subsequently merged the company with ITXC.  Mr. Machuca currently serves on The Regence Group Board of Directors, The Umpqua Bank Board of Directors, the University of Portland Board of Regents, and The Oregon Business Council Board of Directors. Mr. Machuca has also served on the Oregon Health & Science University Foundation Board of Trustees, the ENDfootwear Advisory Board, the Catholic Charities of Oregon Board of Directors, the Portland Metropolitan Family Services Board of Directors, the Jesuit High School Board of Trustees, the Lifeworks NW Board of Directors, the Boy Scouts of America Cascade Pacific Council Executive Board, and was a finals judge for the 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2009 NewVenture Championship business plan competitions sponsored by the University of Oregon’s Lundquist Center for Entrepreneurship.

Erik Benson

Managing Director, Voyager Capital

Erik Benson is a Managing Director with Voyager Capital where he focuses on digital marketing, media and software investments. He is currently on the boards of AboutUs, Covario, Elemental Technologies, Ground Truth and Kryptiq. He was previously involved with Voyager’s investments in aQuantive (acquired by Microsoft in 2007) and Capital Stream (acquired by HCL Technologies in 2008). Prior to joining Voyager Capital, Erik was an entrepreneur-in-residence with the Washington Research Foundation (now WRF Capital). Earlier in his career, Erik was in the acquisition finance and private equity groups at Chemical Banking Corporation (now JPMorgan Chase). Erik has a BA from Pacific Lutheran University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Nordic Heritage Museum.

Andy Bryant

CAO, Intel

Andy D. Bryant is EVP and Chief Administrative Officer of Intel Corporation. He is responsible for financial operations, human resources, information technology and e-business functions and activities worldwide. Prior to joining Intel, Mr. Bryant held positions in finance at Ford Motor Company and Chrysler Corporation. Bryant holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Missouri and an MBA with a concentration in finance from the University of Kansas.

Debi Coleman

Managing Partner, SmartForest Ventures

Debi Coleman, Managing Partner of SmartForest Ventures, is one of the most recognized female executives in technology management. Ms. Coleman stepped down as Chairman of the Board of Merix Corp. in September 2001, having served as Chair since October 1999. She is perhaps best known for her career achievements with Apple Computer, Inc. where she held the positions of VP of Operations, CFO, and VP Information Systems and Technology. Ms. Coleman graduated from Brown University with a BA in English Literature in 1974 and received her MBA from Stanford University in 1978. She also received an honorary PhD in Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1987. Ms. Coleman was named a Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute in 1997.

Frank Gill

Private Investor

Frank Gill is a 23-year veteran of Intel Corporation where he held a variety of positions in sales and marketing, product development and manufacturing operations. At the time of his retirement in June 1998, he was serving as executive vice president and was among the top five officers of the company.   Frank joined Intel in 1975 in the sales organization and rose to head Intel’s world wide sales force in 1987.  He was elected a senior vice president of Intel in 1989 and moved to Oregon to head the Intel Products Group in 1990. In 1995, he became head of the Internet and Communications Group and was promoted to executive vice president in 1996. 

Frank currently serves on the boards of Elemental Technology, Kryptiq Inc., Payless LTC Pharmacy, Inc., and Avamere Inc.  He also serves on venture capital firm, Voyager Capital’s board of advisors.  In the past, he has served on the boards of several technology companies including Tektonix, Logitech, Pixelworks, Sequent Computer Systems, Inktomi, McAfee.com, and Niku.

Frank holds a B.S.E.E. from University of California at Davis. Frank’s received the Outstanding Alumni Award from University of California, Davis for his business achievements.

Charles Kilo, MD, MPH

CEO, GreenField Health System

Chuck Kilo, MD, MPH is CEO of GreenField Health, an R&D-focused medical group providing comprehensive primary care services. He is also executive director of The Trust for Healthcare Excellence, a not-for-profit organization promoting the collective efforts and conditions necessary for health and healthcare excellence.

From 1995 to 2000, Dr. Kilo was a vice president at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement. In 1998 he started the Idealized Design for Clinical Office Practices, which helped create a design foundation for comprehensive primary care services and subsequently what has become known as the Patient-Centered Medical Home. He is on the board of directors for TransforMED and the Foundation for Medical Excellence. In 2005 Dr. Kilo and Dr. Mark Leavitt wrote a book entitled Medical Practice Redesign with Information Technology. Dr. Kilo’s landmark Commentary with co-author Dr. Eric Larson in the July 1, 2009 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) titled Exploring the Harmful Effects of Health Care has begun to change the way policy makers and leaders understand the value of healthcare services. Dr. Kilo is a practicing general internist with subspecialty training in infectious diseases.

Bahram Nour-Omid

PhD, Senior Partner, Shelter Capital Partners

Bahram Nour-Omid, PhD has over 20 years of experience with technology companies, including roles as Chairman and Chief Executive of StudioXchange; EVP and a Director of Essentus, Inc.; and founding CTO and a Director of Scopus Technology, Inc. Dr. Nour-Omid is currently a director of Roamware, Inc., a leading provider of software solutions designed to power the global wireless market; Integrated Decision Systems, an industry leader in portfolio management solutions, Isensix, a provider of wireless monitoring systems; and Kryptiq. Dr. Nour-Omid earned a BS from the University of London's Imperial College, and an MS in Structural Engineering, MA in Mathematics and PhD in Computer Simulation from the University of California, Berkeley.
