Powering HIE with the Interactive Network

“Let me send that to you…”

Every day, professionals around the country share critical information with proven, email-based communications. Theses communications offer significant benefits, including the ability to communicate and dialogue around a wide range of information.  Except professionals in one industry; healthcare.

Healthcare has made great strides in improving data standards and addressing data exchange. Around the country, the success of solutions such as the national ePrescribing network or regional Health Information Exchanges (HIEs), have improved the movement of information between systems. Yet these systems struggle to provide the context, workflow, or system integration that users expect.  These systems and workflows are more like search engine queries than interactive data sharing.

Let us tell you more...

The Network exists today.

We call it the Interactive Network for Healthcare.  This network lets users dialog around shared data in an HIE or securely send information to users without HIE access in the same way that email complements a search engine in our daily lives.  Additional workflows, such as Referral Management, can also be enabled on the Interactive Network.  This lets all users receive and interact with shared data as they see fit, whether they practice with a paper-based chart or in a highly sophisticated IDN.
